Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa or U.S. residence to own an LLC?
Not to form it: a foreigner can own a Texas LLC. Working in the U.S. is a separate immigration matter we don't cover.
How long does the EIN take?
By fax, the IRS usually assigns it within a few business days; by mail, several weeks. We file by fax.
Do you guarantee the bank account?
No. Each bank decides. We guide you on the requirements and documents they usually ask foreign owners for.
What obligations does the LLC have afterward?
At a minimum, Form 5472 every year if it is foreign-owned and single-member, and the Texas annual report by May 15. Selling in Texas may require a sales tax permit.
